Journaling in Nature

Written Project Statement

 

For this Project called Nature Journals, I had really felt connected, I had always had a love for nature, be it from leaves to flowers to the spring and summer colours and now that I get to explore art and incorporate nature I feel as though I am satisfied. The process of this nature journal work has taught me that in every aspect of life whether you like it or not there will always be nature lurking around the corner somewhere. My three most favourite pieces out fo the seven are the three pieces that I had made bigger (The Flower, the Fashion show and the Flamingo). I had tried to use shape, form, line and value. These are most prevalent in my most favourite piece, the "frangipani flower". It shows how the petals overlap and depth as I shaded and arranged the flower. I used multiple materials such as feathers, fake leaves, cut out magazine papers and textured paper to create my artworks. I really loved how everything turned out and I wish that I had more time to explore Nature. But overall this was amazing and I loved doing this Unit.

The two bottommost small pages are experiments and colour pads, whereas the frangipani and the print making have notes on them to indicate that I liked it or not and how I should apply more better techniques to have a better art piece.
