Artist Statement

In my artwork posted below, I use a variety of symbols and images to convey the message of my life and school life. I use symbols such as brightly coloured books to emphasise the fact that I have to stay on top of everything, a broken clock to tell you that I am very tired and a brain that is connected to my computer through the apps and games. In my normal life, since I love the group BlackPink and therefore I put them on top so you can see. My family is important too that is why it is in cursive, different from all the other styles of hand lettering so that it stands out. I use also contrast in the colors and the designs to juxtaposition everything so that it looks out of place but it looks like it belongs at the same time, call it tasteful scrambling. My next favorite element of design is texture because of the little purple flower textures on the "CRAS" because it is very scrambled up, like my life, and the two tone colored sprinkles give it a shimmery look. The hand letterings are very block and straight forward so it cutes to the chase while looking good at the same time. My intention with this artwork is to show you that my life currently is very hectic and crazy while visually communicating on big bold pretty letters that I am a procrastinator that waits until the very last minute such as now (10:29 p.m) to complete his work.
